cleaning diamond studs

This has probably been covered before but I haven't been to these boards in awhile. Please share your favorite method to clean your diamond studs set in white or yellow gold. I've heard of the Dawn dishwashing method, the jewelry cleaning method, the alcohol method, etc -- wondering what you think is the best.
