caged ring

Can anyone tell me their thoughts on this ring. As far as the brass cage would it be easy to clean and does anyone just let the brass take its course and leave it tarnished, in other words never clean their brass? Also what are your thoughts on if the cage is hit on something, do you think it could pop off and how bad does brass ding, dent and scratch? I love the ring but I would like some thoughts or even someone who knows the answer to my questions from experience.
