I purchased J4033448 black diamond ring, probably a couple months ago.

Put it on quickly, thought it was lovely and put it back in the pouch and box.

Life had been a bit crazy, ok alot crazy and certently wasnt going anyware to be wearing

black diamonds. Finally got it out last week ans the center stone has a divit and swirls. OMG really.! Purchased on sale but still costly .so freaked out. Lost weight during my crazy so it needed sizing. Went to my local jeweler whom is well respected in our community . He took one look at it with out a loop and said that it didnt look look like a diamond. was coated with something and wouldn't dare touch it. I wanted him to buff out the divit and swirls while he resized it.

Because of the lack of information on the paridot stud earrings I was looking at on QVC , while I was at my jewelers I bought 2 pairs of white gold paridot studs and a white gold mens 19.11 grams. just over 2300.00.

At a better hour I will be calling QVC about the ring. Its beautiful, going to stay with my black spinel .

If it were me, I'd get a second opinion from a jeweler, regarding whether it's 'real diamond' or not - and be sure not to tell the second jeweler what the first jeweler said.  If  both are in agreement of it  not being  real diamond, then I think ''measures surely need to be taken.""

The item # that you gave brings up 0 results. Does not show sold out but nothing found for that #. QVC might have problems but I seriously doubt that they are selling fake diamonds as real diamonds. Also Affinity also sells other gems. The ring may be a different gemstone. Something sounds a little off here.

Your black diamond is I2 in clarity, thus the imperfections. Any diamond in I clarity 1,2 and 3 will have inclusions visible to the naked eye @SHELLY 29 . Always remember in the diamond industry you most always get what you pay for.

Rarely will your local jeweler "praise" anything from another retailer. If you need something appraised you need a GIA certified appraiser who Doesn't SELL jewelry.

QVC should not be faulted. They simply sold you a black diamond where the price matched the clarity of the diamond.

@SHELLY 29  I used to work at a jewelry store.  We used diamond testers on every item that needed resizing or any type of repair work.  It doesn't matter if it was a black or another color fancy diamond - it would still test as diamond.  I don't understand how your jeweler did not test the gem - it's standard practice & would have taken him no time at all to use the tester.  Bring it somewhere else & get it tested for your own peace of mind.
