Good morning and happy Tuesday to us all.
It's cold - 16 degrees with wind at present. The Arctic has arrived but, thankfully, with just snow flurries. At least I hope it'll just be flurries. I don't care what the calendar say - it is winter.
Some hopeful news from yesterday about DS. We found him sitting out of bed. He had showered and was exhausted from that & he'd also taken a walk too. For the first time in 11 days he had the TV on, although the room remained darkened. He talked briefly about the Eagles and we argued some, which is a good sign to me. We also during the visit took a walk with him, which he probably shouldn't have done because he left him really, really exhausted. But you can't tell a 29 year old man anything that he doesn't want to hear. He was placed on a clear liquid diet and when the tray came he couldn't even bear to think about what was there. While we were there he kept down a few ice chips and took a med by mouth, albeit crushed to a pulp and in a tiny bit of grape juice. Obviously there are plenty of things that are pretty bad, but I'm grasping onto these little things that the 'light at the end of the tunnel' may be showing itself on and off.
A PS to my adventure in NYC. NJgirl really gave me quite a tour of Manhattan in less than two hours and I don't really think I properly imparted some of what I saw, so here is some of it. Besides the up-close-and-personal sidewalk situation & Blue Box store, this is what I can remember seeing: tons of chic chic stores with names on them of all the most expensive brands, St. Patrick's Cathedral as well as other most impressive church's, Fifth Avenue ( "In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it ..."), the Xmas tree & skating rink at Rockefeller Center, TODAY Show locale, Bryant Park where all the fashion shows used to be & Lisa did Posh in the Park, 34th Street & Macy's & the window displays (and all those dancing feet), a deBeer's store with fabulous window displays, Madison Square Garden and much more that I'm sure will come to me at a later date but I'll try to remember not to bore you with it then. Thanks again, NJgirl!
Off to get some things done.
Make it a great day!
