Why Italian jewelry clearance day?

Can't help but wonder in light of all the other jewelry days we have lost and now almost full day of Italian jewelry clearance, is QVC getting out of the Italian jewelry business?  Thought about sending question to Antonella...I sure hope not, but gotta wonder.

Sure glad the other shopping channels are still knee deep in jewelry shows!

Yes, it's curious.... but at the prices they want for 14k, and especially the gorgeous items from Italy, I can understand why....

Re: Why Italian jewelry clearance day?

It is clearly obvious that their inventory of bronzo has not been selling.  Not even the silicone filled 14kt. pieces either, so they have to move it out of the inventory somehow and not let it continue to just sit in their warehouses!  The clearance prices are not as high as some other places, though.  Other places have reduced jewerly sales of 60-70% and that is what catches my eye!  Sadly, this isn't being done here across all clearance sales!  I guess this merchandise just may continue to sit in the warehouses!

They have signaled that they are moving away from jewelry.  Anyway, should one consider "bronzo" Italitan jewelry? And silicone filled gold?  QVC has a new definition of the word "clearance, " it seems.

I guess by it being made in Italy, that is why they are saying that.  But when I think of Italian jewerly, I sure don't think of bronzo or filled jewerly!

Re: Why Italian jewelry clearance day?

@JavaQueen  Clearly they understand 'clearance'. What they don't understand is why no one buys this stuff ie bronzo over sterling, jewelry that's not REAL jewelry, NO 24 hour silver jewelry shows anymore apparently.

Few of us wear gold over silver, rose over silver, bronzo over silver, expensive 'designer' jewelry.  Who watches shows like these?  And now they're doing a day's worth of clearance jewelry.

I won't be watching any of it that's for sure.

Re: Why Italian jewelry clearance day?

If the Bronzo line wasn't so bold, I'd buy it. Every bracelet seems to be a chunky inch thick. Most of it would be ridiculous on me, a homemaker. I'd wear some if I wore business suits or gowns like the models. I've always found the jewelry shows odd that the models often wear fine dresses, yet most of the clothes Qvc sells is more like Denim & Co. It doesn't make sense to sell jewelry for evenings out, yet mostly casual clothes that are sometimes frumpy . Nearly every shirt I see suggested on the side of the screen is meant to hide guts and butts. Maybe QVC should sell jewelry that is more casual in size and no more resin filled.

I never watch any shows on the Q--I just don't have time.  I did see a couple of little pieces in the Italian Jewelry clearance that I could use, so I ordered them.  I also hope this doesn't mean there won't be more 14 kt jewelry on Q, since that is the only thing I buy from them.  From time to time I do find something I like.

Re: Why Italian jewelry clearance day?

Actually, I was pointing out their "clearance" pricing is not really that at all. An excpetion: lunchtime specials.

There are those out there who wear gold over silver. They love big, bold jewelry and happenen to love yellow gold. Some probably may have it without realiizing, because someone may have sold it to them as "gold."

I think the point is i that Q has found that they aren't getting the sales in the jewelry category period.

People aren't buing it as much. it makes no difference whether it is bronze, silver,  resin or gold.

Fortuantely, there are other options out there.
