Interesting. I always heard it was a single source stone.
It's like labradorite; originally discovered in Canada, now sourced in many places.
If you watch enough of these vendors, you'll notice that sometimes it's called Russian diopside, and sometimes just chrome diopside.
I knew it as Russian Diopside before Chrome Diopside. Now the "chrome" name seems to be what is used more often.
I believe its the chromium in it that makes it green, hence chrome diopside. And its only mined in Russia.
