Re: What's happened to Honora?

I agree, but I'm happy I don't spend money. I have enough pearls. The Honora styles are not good.

My weakness now is Hagit.

Re: What's happened to Honora?

I didn't realize this thread was still going, but once again, just about every item is bronze in today's show, and the black spinel has made another appearance. No thank you!

Yep

I have to agree. It's The Bronze & Pearl Show. And since I don't like the Bronze metals.... I haven't purchased Honora is quite a while.... but today they had on 14k hoops with pearls at a great price and I bought a white and a rose....

Q4U - I saw those and was briefly tempted by the white gold.

I agree with you, even though I'm not a pearl girl, there use to be some nice speacial pieces, now not much of interest,I especially don't like black Speneile with pearls.

Re: What's happened to Honora?

I think the days of real gold and silver are gone. I don't like spending on substitutes. I don't see them holding any value at all. My four daughters would probably never want to inherit any of them. I do still have a stash of the GOOD STUFF and I hope that someday I can gift them to my grand kids.

As for the designs, I have no problem with what I saw, it was just the expense of getting NOT SO REAL metals bothered me.

Re: What's happened to Honora?

For me the late '90's thru early 2000 was the apex of jewlery shopping at the Q. Things went downhill from the days when you had to stay up til midnight to get a Bixby TSV because her offerings sold out as soon as they were put up.

Ripka was the same way. Honora had sell outs too; beautiful strands and pieces.

Honora sold the business to Richline Group in May 2013 after 60 years as a family held business. Think that explains all.

Re: What's happened to Honora?

I agree about the quality going down. The only item that tempted me was the extender/magnet that you can put on bracelets or necklaces that are hard to clasp. It came to almost $49. so don't know if I'm going to order it or not. Anyone have this?

I agree with OP. I used to look forward to the Honora shows but now I rarely watch because of the bronzo being used instead of sterling or gold. I feel the silver shows (which are rare) have also gone downhill.

I agree! Honora has really change -- and not for the better!
