I prefer 17 inch but they are only available if you modify a chain.  Most of mine are 16 or 18"

It all depends on the weight and the size of the pendants. I wear all sizes very comfortably.

It all depends on what I am wearing. I want my necklaces and pendants to fall either above the neckline of a garment and against my skin or fall lower and hang over the garment. I hate it when a necklace or pendant falls in that weird spot where it just slips under the neckline of my top or dress. That drives me crazy.
