What kind of gemstone is this?

IMG_7764.jpg

What is this called? It's like blue topaz and amythyst in one stone? Has little stones all around and on the band.

Ideas? Guessing it's lab created quartz of some kind?

Can't see it very well.  Photo is too dark.

Looks like a Mystic topaz of some kind, heat treated quartz to produce different colors, very popular a while back. Could it be something from Chuck Clemency's collection. He sold a lot of these in various colors.

The ring needs to be against a white background, to show color to let light shine through it. Then color will be more accurately show to id stone.

I posted a better picture. I bought a bag of rings at a yard sale for $50.00. This one is marked 925STS which I think is STS jewelry.

@gardensla   Could it be a bi-color sapphire ?

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

What is STS? Definitley looks like one of those heat treated topaz stones, Chuck had different names for different colors of them. Mystic was usually green and purple.
