Re: What is relationship between JAI and John Hardy?

Overall this is good news.  I can continue to buy JAI and know I'm getting pretty much the same "designer" cachet.  At much better prices, of course.

John Hardy doesn't do just diamond jewelry. Some pieces have diamonds, yes, and some are 14KT gold (or mixed metals), but plenty of JH is sterling silver.

I remember the heavy sterling John Hardy bracelets Jill used to wear.  It was her gift of choice from her hubby to commemorate special happenings.  Bet they set him back a bunch.

Jai line is very similar to John Hardy. I would not call it dumb down. Many pieces in John Hardy are very simple in design. Many Jai rings especially from the past are almost same is John Hardy. Due to price difference, you can expect the difference, but it is not a cheap knock off of John Hardy.

I agree.  I have pieces from both lines and I would not say "you can't compare the two."  Some of my JAI pieces are actually better quality than JH.
