What exactly is an "average" size wrist?

I see many bracelets on the Q that say that they fit an average sized wrist. Most of these bracelets do not fit me. My wrist measures 7 1/4. Is this above average size for a woman? Most of the stretch bracelets (which I love) do not fit me. I have to take an 7 3/4 or 8 inch bracelet to fit comfortably. Just wondering what is considered an "average" size wrist.
