I wish that this thread were titled "What do you most like about Joan Rivers", rather than "remember." Regardless of her condition, she is still among the living.

I didn't mean to offend anyone.
This thread just brought me back to all of the memories I have had since my childhood, with my family who are now all gone, killed in 2007 by a drunk driver.
Sorry if I offended any of you, but these were the great memories I have of Joan and have always had them throughout her life and the life of my now deceased family, and my life.
I have not given up on her.
I will not respond again since I'm obviously offensive to many of you.
Walk a mile in my shoes, then judge.

I have to agree!! For a few moments I thought she had already passed!....thank goodness that's not the case here...I hope that she makes a full recovery!
Many years ago she used to fill in for Johnny Carson on the tonight show and we had gone out to California to visit some friends. My DH at the time worked for RCA which was owned by NBC. At the time employees were able to get tickets for some shows right away rather than go on a long waiting list. We were able to go to the Tonight Show and Joan was the host. It was a fun experience!

You didn't offend anyone or at least you certainly did not offend me. Your posts on the subject of Joan have been heartfelt and beautifully written. Your own journey with both of your parents touched me deeply.

I think she had to work and she had not only her comedic talent but her writing and also designs of jewelry and fashions. I enjoy her QVC shows and how knowledgeable she is about the history of a lot of pieces of jewelry. I admire her for being so active and creative. I also admire how she always looks so nicely dressed and "put together." I remember years ago on one QVC show a caller said how she was having a difficult time with chemo and cancer and Joan asked her to leave her information with the operator and she said she would send her an item--I think it was a bracelet. Whether or not some like her type of comedy, I think she has to be given credit for all she does. I just can't get her out of my mind since this happened and I hope the family gets good news about her condition. Joan and family are in my prayers.
So well said and I feel the exact same way!
Get well Joan!

No offense taken here either . . I think it's nice to speak well of someone you admire while they're still here on earth.

As you can see from my number of posts, I don't post too often, but read the boards every day. But, I wanted to add to this post.
My husband is a musician and, years ago, there were several clubs in our town where celebrities would appear for one or two night performances. He always worked in the band backing the performers and has played for stars including Sammy Davis, Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Johnny Mathis, 4 Tops, Temptations, etc.
When Joan performed there, all the band had to do was play "Anchors Aweigh" when she came on stage and again when she left - that was all. But, he said she was the most gracious celebrity he ever met. After each performance, she personally thanked each and every musician and, on the last night, she gave them all a personal thank you note and a bottle of really good wine. There were a lot of celebrities who never even acknowledged the band, but he has never forgotten how gracious she was. Needless to say, our thoughts and prayers are with Joan and her family.
