What shape was your engagement ring?  

The one I got engaged with was a marquise.  He didn't have much money and I didn't care.  Three years later, graduated from college, in our careers with a new house, he bought me a pear shaped diamond which I loved even more.

Years when I worked in fine jewelry, the old round 1-2 1/2 karat diamonds were so very, very beautiful!

The stone was round on a simple white gold ring.  Over time I had the stone mounted on the basket weave gold ring below that I have been wearing as my wedding ring since 1978.  The plain gold one from 1967 is missing.

The time when you receive an engagement ring can be such a magical and hopeful time in life.

I had two weddings, and three engagements:

1- Marquise

2- Round

3- Emerald cut
