Waitling lists

How long does someone have to wait for something on a waitlist. I purchase a Tacori diamonque and lab created band for my wife for our 40th anniversary. It means something speical but anniversary has gone by and I am hoping I don't get told that I will not get the item. It is a surprise but she does know something is suppose to be coming.
