It's September and you know that means.....time to start a new Watch Collectors' thread It's been kind of quiet on the watch front, but....

A very warm welcome to all watch enthusiasts.

If you would like to chat about a particular watch or have added one recently to your collection, we'd love to hear. Of course, if you'd like to drop by and say "Hi," that's great.

We'd love to hear from you.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS--- SEPTEMBER 2018

For fans of the Invicta Bolt (40mm), meteorite dials, and Swiss movements, evine's is offering a special.

This meteorite apparently was  harvested in Sweden.

Hi Java. Thx for the new thread.

I was looking at that meteorite Today’s Special last night.  I’m wondering just how that meteorite looks compared to the meteorite they sold before.

Since I’m now stuck on buying automatics only, that has slowed me way down.  Nothing since the Seiko Kinetic.

I don’t know if in the past they even offered automatic meteorites.  Probably not.  The S. Coifman SS I was after so long, did get a special price of $179.99.  But as low as that was, I still couldn’t pull the trigger.  I must fess up if I could have gotten in on the free shipping they offer every once in a while on having their c/c I would have jumped.  But in the past, in order to get over the want of that watch I pulled out the YT S. Coifman, its double but with the white MOP dial and those lucious pretty blue numerals in the white MOP.  Gorgeous watch.  What a deal but the SS with the charcoal or black MOP just wasn’t up to the same striking look.  So, so far I have passed.

I’ll have to see a video or catch the meteorite “live” and see what I think of that dial.

Anyway good to see you Java, and “Hello” to the rest of you. Smiley Wink

Ok, I look the video over and the dial is quite impressive.  I’m stuck on the gold Bolt, love the gold glittering everywhere.  The gold and the black is striking.  The strap doesnt’ bother me, in fact I have a couple of other watches with it and I like the feel and the look.  (Sorry LJ I know you and I go different directions here. Smiley Wink ). The only thing I don’t like is the $$$.  At this point, I don’t want to spend that much money.  Even though I don’t own a meteorite now.  Smiley Sad

Happy Labor Day everyone.  It’s rainy here.  No fun plans anyway.  Good reason to clean house, I guess.

I am surprised that not one of the TSV sold out and are still available at the TSV price.  The newest meteorite didn’t go over well or everyone was gone and not watching tv.  This watch looks chunky to me because of the 3 Hugh stems sticking way out there.  I like the day of the week window, for I’d use that.  But......but it’s a quartz.  I love automatics. Re: WATCH COLLECTORS--- SEPTEMBER 2018

Hi all.  Thinking of you.   I'll have to check out the meteorite dial watch.  Probably a good thing it sounds like it's not on a bracelet,  so I won't be tempted.

Went to a wedding yesterday and wore my Renato Beauty GT pave dial watch.   What a stunning and sparkly watch.  Since it was a daytime event,  I thought the 36mm chunky style combined with the elegant diamonds was perfect.  I'm not sure the watch would look right in every situation.   But it was ideal with my outfit and other jewelry.     Only downside.... it's very hard to read the time!  Smiley Wink.... not sure how much to blame on the watch and how much on the lighting and my aging eyes.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS--- SEPTEMBER 2018

Well it took the YT Meteorite Invicta 40MM to push me off the fence.  With only a few hours to go on this Labor Day weekend, I suppose yesterdays TSV will be gone.  This is the 2nd meteorite I’ve tried and the 1st went back.  The dial was just too plain.  If this one doesn’t show some dramatic fractures and cracks, then its going back too.

Well now I can move on to other things....lol.

No one else buying, I see.  Well let us know if you are.

Jena:  hope you love the meteorite dial watch.   If it had been on a bracelet,  I would have been tempted..... even tho I already have a meteorite dial.   It's a SAN I from many, many years ago.  I really don't need another one.

Well I was tempted to cancel, like always but I am so curious as to what this dial really looks like in person.  So it’s in process today, no canceling allowed....Smiley Wink.  The return fee is less than the cost getting here, so that will be my contribution to USPS I guess if it doesn’t pan out.

I’m curious to what the difference is from the older meteorite is to the new.  Dig out your meteorite, LJ, and see what you think compared to the todays video?  It’s time it saw the light of day anyway.  Smiley Wink
