I caved on the purple Android StarHalo. I thought about the blue, but I have a Renato Vulcan in GT with a turquoise dial that I love already, so I didn't need another in that color combo. I don't have any purple watches, the nearest thing I have to any purple is a lavender ceramic Oniss, so the purple was the one for me.
I have a few dead batteries that I need to take to my jeweler soon for replacement, too. I can see where it's cheaper to collect automatics & mechanicals over the long haul!
You're right! But the bill too have them cleaned, etc. is quite high. So wear that until it dies. Automatics can cost over $400 to have serviced. Probably more now. That is why you see a lot of older automatics on ebay for sale. People can't afford the servicing. These little GDs should last a very long time without servicing. I am glad they didn't make it 40mm. It's perfect as it is. The only one that I like more is my 34mm Reserve Pro Diver, just because it's easy to wear. I don't wear it tons, because it is a Swiss Made watch and you can't get those anymore.

Java: thanks for your support over on watch geeks. I don't post there very often... too much testosterone and too few brains, it seems.

You're welcome...I am so sorry about that.
I am actually used to dealing with that person and I have never had problems. It must be something in the air? Haven't a clue. Maybe he lost on the Kentucky Derby. Don't know.
And me, they are used to over there. I don't have too many problems. But there I am JQ and joking referred to as "our Queen." LOL.
Been watching the Dooney shows. I did do some laundry and packing away of the woolies. There will be more Once Onlys on May 5. That is--unless they switch the schedules.. Just check your schedules.

Gosh, LJ, I just read your very legitimate question over on WG & that response was totally uncalled for.

ETA: I'm registered over there, but have never posted anything, I just read. If I have a question, I ask it here!

The red GD arrived yesterday at work. I sized it today and it's on the wrist.
I also am going to get some batteries and do some replacements myself. I have the case open on a couple of the Renatos and it's not hard. On watches that I can't get the case back off (some are really tough), I'll take them to the jeweler. I am acquiring more automatics too it seems. Nice to not have to worry about a battery with those. I haven't had any serviced, although I know you're supposed to.
LJ: I'll have to check out the goings on over at WG.
Big news last night. As we were having dinner out, and I proposed a toast to Friday, my SO said that everyday would be Friday for him!
He retired and Friday was his last day! He had turned in his notice 2 weeks ago. I knew he'd wanted to, as he was very stressed by his job and didn't really like the type of projects he had to work on. He'd been talking to his financial planner to see if he could, but I thought maybe the end of this year, so this was a surprise. He's younger than me by a couple of years. I'm jealous to a degree, but I like what I do and am not ready to stop altogether, just want to slow down some.

Jazzy: enjoy the red GD. That watch seems to be the 'official' watch of our group.
As for retirement, it's a shame that we can't keep working but for fewer hours and/or with less stress. The type of jobs, or maybe it's our personalities, seem to be all or nothing. And all, is often 60+ hours a week. I hope you can find some middle ground. I know you work very hard and very long hours.
Before I retired I worked 'part time' doing consulting. Turned out it was working full time but only being paid for part time. Lots of hours, lots of stress. That didn't turn out to be a good solution for me.

Jazzy,
Congrats to your SO.
I concur with LavJ: working as "a consultant" is not worth the money. However, since I have about 15 years to go before I can even retire, I am kind of stuck with it right now. That full-time position proves to be ever so elusive.
Enjoy that GD! I am jealous of those who got the red! (in a good way, of course) ![]()
Watch out tonight for Invicta shows,
More Once Onlys are scheduled for the 5th. I wouldn't break my neck for those. They have only one piece and that's an MK watch. Sigh. You will see more watch shows scheduled for next and the week after. Just check the backdoor link.

What's the backdoor link? I hate the new format on the Shop website. Would love a way to see a longer view of what's coming up.

The Grand Diver is back at the same price it was last week. In the 38mm, the blue and silvertone dials are available. Many of us got the red dial, that one is sold out. But the other dial colors are nice also, so if anyone is having second thoughts about not buying the watch last week, I think tonight is the last chance (at least for a while) at that price $139.
