Thanks for starting the new thread Java. It's been very quiet on the watch front lately. I'm glad we are still around.

I have been very busy with projects, etc. I'm not saying that I'm off watches, but I honestly can't remember a more disappointing offering from Invicta since the spring of 2009. That was when there was a noticeable shift in what they featured in the spring lineup. It was so depressing. The women's watches definitely changed at that point. Yes, we were deep in a recession. There were a few cool women's watches, but at that point they marketed the men's pieces to women. Obviously, I am talking about Invicta.
They hadn't begun to church out a certain type of women's watch.
I know that there's something out there for everyone, but there was always a cool watch or two thrown in the mix. This time I didn't have that sense. It was great to see a new Baby Lupah, but it's not quite the same as when they released Venoms, Lady Lupah Revolutions and SANs that were every bit equal to those designed for the men. It's not the same.

Java, you are so right. I looked over the watch line ups for some of the shows and there were hardly any ladies watches. And the few thrown in had no interest for me. Maybe it's because we have such extensive collections, or maybe it's because we are looking for watches that are special both inside and outside. What ever it is, there aren't many to tempt me. And the one or two that might, are too high priced, especially considering the compromises on the movements.
But this gives me a chance to enjoy what I have and conserve my $. Not as much fun as buying new watches, but certainly wiser.

It's that time of year again..
Next Sunday (MARCH 11) clocks are turned one hour ahead. Time to look over the collection and check for batteries, etc.

Also, typically a bunch of watch shows that day.
Thanks for the reminder about the clocks.

Thursday, web only special, 38mm grand diver (Invicta) with black spinel or blue apatite gemstone bezel, Japanese automatic movement. Price reduced to $229..... not bad, similar watches without gemstone bezel are about $100 less (when on sale), so cost of gemstone bezel upgrade is obvious. Both colors are very sharp looking watches.
(I have the SAN I versions, and I love them).
SAN I version also available in the black spinel and it's even less at $200 sale price. SAN I is heavier than the grand diver version. Same movement, higher level of water resistance, but the grand diver has a good level of water resistance. Country of origin and movement are comparable. So it comes down to style, price, and preference.

Hi ladies.
Just popping in to let you know I'm still around. I've had some health issues that have kept me running to appointments and for tests. Strange stuff really, like tingling in my hands and feet, hives (which I've never had in my life), something called uveitis (inflammation of the colored portion of the eye). I think it may be something autoimmune, but nobody knows yet.
No new watches here. I agree that nothing lately has caught my eye, which is ok since I have lots to choose from in my collection already.
LJ: I looked at the blue appatite diver just a little bit ago. But I am planning an expensive cruise this winter - 3 weeks, touring South America and Antartica (it will be summer there). So I am trying not to buy anything I don't really need!
Hi to all who are still here. I'll try to stop in more often.

Jazzy: so nice to hear from you again. I hope your health improves. There are more fun ways to spend time than visiting doctors. Enjoy your upcoming trip. It sounds amazing.
