On behalf of the Atlanta Ripkanistas who have been meeting monthly since 2007, I posted this several years ago and everyone got a kick out of it. We even framed it, along with our picture with Judie in Atlanta and gave it to her. I didn't post it this holiday season because we were traveling but I thought the Ripkanistas would get a chuckle.

PS - I can't seem to get it to copy properly, so please enjoy anyway!

‘Twas the Night Before Ripka By The Atlanta Ripkanistas

‘Twas the night before Ripka and all through the Q

Not a creature was stirring except you know who;

The Spanx were hung by the chimney with care;

In hopes the UPS man soon would be there.

The ‘nistas were waiting all snug in their beds;

While visions of easy pays danced in their heads;

With Mama Baroque protecting her brood;

Nothing, no nothing could spoil the mood.

When on the TV there arose such a clatter;

Ripkanistas sprung from their beds to see what was the matter;

Away to the TV they flew like a flash,

Then tore open green pouches to check on their stashway

The moon on the breast of the midnight show,
Gave lustre to all Ripka for her subjects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a Pia so stunning, my eye shed a tear.

With Ricky “D”, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he wasn’t St. Nick!
More rapid than eagles his descriptive words came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Monaco! Now, Tubogas! Now, Truffle and Sweet Pave Miss!
On,‘Estate! On Cuffs! On Pearls by the fist!
To the top of the hour! To the end of the day!

Now Easy Pay! Clearance! It’s just a dollar a day!"

newjerseygirl...have a great time. I love my Broncos so fingers crossed for them. I will be out most of Sunday but hope to catch her afternoon and evening on my ipad as i am watching the SB. Stay safe and warm. Best.

Just came on and was so happy to see this thread. Brings back the best of memories especially since I was there to meet Miss Judie and I am pleased to be an ""honorary Atlanta Ripkanista."" You ladies are the best. Love the tweaks. It sounds so great and I can really relate.

Thanks for the kind word, ladies. It was fun to write it years ago and even more fun to "tweak" it for the newer items.

And, since we read the doctor's reports that "spanx" and other control options are not so good for us, I think they are best used to fill up with delicious Ripka.
