When jewelry is presented, the host and/or guest will drone on and on about it, with just a tight shot of their faces and the piece for 10 or more minutes - before they finally show a model wearing the earring, necklace, etc. I can't decide if I want to own a piece of jewelry or not, unless I see it to scale on a live person! Many times QVC (and HSN & ShopHQ is guilty of this also) will only show a piece on a model in the last minute of a presentation. To me it's like selling a dress that's just hanging on a hanger - I need to see it on a live model so I can get an idea of the fit and the movement of the garment.

YES! It drives me crazy as well. Just the other night I found myself shouting at the screen "Oh for heaven's sake SHUT UP and show the jewelry!" Truth. (And then there was about a ten-second shot of it and they cut back to the host.)

When I lived in England, QVC's camera work was so much better than it is here in the U.S.; they used to say that reps from QVC U.S. would come over periodically and try to lure the cameramen away. They had terrific close-up shots of the jewelry so you could see exactly what you were getting.

I've gotten used to the less-than-stellar camera shots now, but I get so irritated with the ad nauseum talking that I simply switch off.

They used to do great close up shots in the good old days, but like everything else with the Q, they have diminished in quality. You can watch the whole presentation and not ever get a good look at the piece on the model. It annoys the heck out of me,too

I've noticed this with things other than jewelry too. It's way too much about the hosts and way too little about the products. I want details (!) before I buy something, not mindless chatter that goes on so long that we either never get the details or we get them in an extremely rushed manner.

I remember waiting to hear the details of a bag I was interested in. I wanted to see the inside, and I wanted to know the color choices. Simple, right? Well, the host & vendor rambled on & on, trying to be cute, trying to convince us that they were the best of friends, telling stupid stories, and going off on ridiculous tangents that had nothing to do with what they were trying to sell.

The end result was that there was a rushed glimpse inside the bag as they realized they were running out of time, and they never talked about the color choices. It had been a long presentation, & I literally sat there with my mouth hanging open because I could not believe I had sat thru the entire thing, all that time, for no reason.

Agree with all of the above, and just would like to add: doesn't matter to me since the jewelry is such junk now.

In the old days they would show a ring on a form only. Same with earrings. When you received them they would be miniscule. They seemed to be very conscious of not putting small pieces on a person. Now I only buy if there is a shot on a model or host.

I'm so glad somebody addressed this. It totally drives me crazy too! I don't know if the fault lies primarily with the camera person - I think some of it does - but the host should instruct the camera person to focus on the jewelry when worn by the model. I particularly want to see earrings on the model, and have in the past declined to purchase those because they never did a close up shot.

Totally agree! WORSE, they talk and talk before showing a CLOSE UP of the piece even before they get to the model. AWFUL!!!!{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Yes, and they actually measured each piece. Remember the ruler? Use it and more close ups please! Forget about the stories where I can wear it. I can decide that for myself.

It is annoying OP. There is absolutely no reason for a host not to actually wear the jewelry while presenting. Those split second shots of the models, often at a distance are not helpful, especially when watching the video rather than the presentation!
