Hi ladies, I never start threads anymore because they seem to be a target for some of the less than wonderful ladies...but that's off the point.

I received my new rose tone watch yesterday and it is nothing short of gorgeous. Compared to the Michael Kors my daughter owns, the Ripka one is the same size, scale and rose coloring. Actually, the Ripka one is ever so slightly less pink and more to the gold, but still a strong rose color. My daughter's mk is two tone (rose and stainless) so that may be throwing my eye a little bit.

I have ordered other Judith Ripka watches and sent them back, the very first black strap one seemed too "hello kitty-ish", the others weren't really my taste, and the ceramic...well I just really wanted a Michele and felt I was settling, although it was lovely. Actually my logic on the ceramic is that I really want the J12 but I got a lovely diamond pendant from my husband for our 20th, so I bought the Micheles myself, so in a way, that was me "settling."

Fast forward to this one. It is lovely! I do not feel like I really wanted a MKs watch and got this one instead. The MKs are nice, but somewhat more masculine. This one is unique, and gorgeous. The MOP dial is outstanding, as are the dmq. They are larger than what is on my Michele's, but not obnoxiously so. I don't necessarily think someone will grab your hand thinking this is a solid gold watch with real diamonds...it's a blingy fashion forward one that's meant to be worn today. In other words, if you are looking for a more classic look, stick with the all stainless. I'm also not sure, for just that reason, that I would want this one in gold. I may pick it up in stainless because for the tsv price, it is a really nice watch. I took it to have links removed for my unusually small wrists and the jeweler's watch man who did so asked what I paid. He said if they were to get that in their shop it would fly due to the price point. He asked if he could remove the case back, and also said that it was a very well made watch.

My bottom line on this one...it is a lovely fashionista watch with a good presence on the wrist (not for the bling shy though because there is a lot of sparkle and shine.) I plan on wearing this a lot this fall and hope that it transitions nicely to spring. I also love the look with my pink DMQ/pink JR2 crystal pieces. It really hits the mark, and is a good value dollar-wise, and is fun. Only word of caution, the watch is on the heavy side so if you aren't used to wearing a big one, it might seem heavy. I like a big watch because it helps to keep the arms toned!
