I remember this stone looking more purple when I was a kid. (I'm now 59)....now all I see is the green color. Does anyone else remember Alexandrite being more on the purple side changing to green, instead of the other way around?
I also remember that it was really not that rare....and not all that popular. For some reason I also recall that it basically disappeared "off the radar" at some point in my youth.
