Re: The Choker: Yay or Nay?

[ Edited ]

The top photo in the OP reminds me of wireless Bluetooth headphones that people wear as though it's jewelry or a fashion piece.  I'm not a fan of that look.

I like some them but I can't  wear them too fitted because I feel like I'm being choked.

It depends on the style.  Some make me look neckless and kind of like I've been partially decaptitated.

You need a long swan-like neck to look really good in a choker and be comfortable.  Unfortunately, that's not what I have.

A definite YAY for me.  I have a long thin neck and almost always wear a chocker style necklace when not wearing a scarf or turtleneck.

I "invented" a chunky necklace scarf combo for the summer using giant link cokers and small square silk scarves.

I have this Vera Wang choker from Kohls - it's prettier than the picture. It's a very lightweight ribbon and has the adjustable silvertone piece on the back. So it doesn't feel like it's choking me. Got the coordinating earrings.

I have a velvet choker with a marcasite snowflake pendant-ancient, from QVC. I mentioned it on another thread about chokers and a poster remembered it. That is adjustable too.

Boy, I used to love wearing those in the 60's and early 70's! Now that I am in my 60's, I don't.......I like long necklaces.....

Like the look but end up feeling uncomfortable in them.

I used to wear them back in the day. The shortest necklace I wear now is 15 inches which falls to the clavicle bone because my neck is thin.

Anything that chokes me like a 13 inch necklace, I no longer wear. Just too constrictive for my lifestyle.
