I mostly bought silver back in the jewelry heydays of QVC but did buy a good amount of gold too. I sold it back to a jeweler when gold was going for $1200+ an ounce--in the early 2000's.--and made a tidy amount for what I paid for it. Am not a gold girl but still have a few chains, earrings, pendants. Nothing worth an appraisal for tho.

@heart2shop2 wrote:Hi! Back in the day, when QVC sold 14K gold jewelry frequently, I purchased a few pieces over the years. I recently had some jewelry appraised for insurance and was surprised (to say the least) at their current value. For example, I purchased a peridot tennis bracelet back in 1998 for $168 (not including shipping and tax) that is now valued at $1600, basically 10X the orignal price. It may be worth considering doing this to ensure your jewelry is insured at its current value. Take care!
@heart2shop2 Yes, prices and values have gone up over the years. I have my insured pieces appraised every other year.
