Sterling / Steel / Diamonique

I'm going out in about an hour and just getting some jewelry out.  The pieces I picked out need to be "freshened."  (two rings and a bracelet)

An old toothpbrush, Palmolive dish detergent and some hot water does a fantastic job in less than 2 minutes.  Everything sparkles now!

Yes indeed.  Tooth paste and a soft tooth brush works great as a jewelry cleaner.

@chrystaltree  One caution...whitening toothpastes are quite abrasive. Dentists warn not to use it regularly as it can eat away enamel. It can also scratch your jewelry. I’ve always found a soft cloth sufficient for silver. If stones need cleaning, Dawn or ammonia do a perfect job.

My stainless steel jewelry (no stones in it) gets placed in my dishwasher for cleaning when it gets looking dull. Comes out sparkling clean!

Good idea, @SilleeMee.  My stainless steel jewelry has a tendency to get duller over time, and I've used Windex with some success.  I had started to wonder if there's something about my system that makes steel dull!  But the dishwasher thing absolutely makes sense and I will try.

@ALRATIBABe sure you don't get anything (including soap from handwashing) on your stones unless it's a diamond.  They all absorb and will get milky.  It can't be steamed or cleaned out.

Re: Sterling / Steel / Diamonique

My DH gave me a jewelry steam cleaner last  Christmas and it certainly makes my jewelry shine and sparkle.
