edited to correct where jewelry is made
I have also been meaning to ask about sterling jewelry prices since they featured American West jewelry, now made in India, on July 4th.
I really liked these pieces, but was suprised that QVC is asking for over $100/gram. Is this representative? I have only bought small pieces, so this surprised me.
J437647 American West Sterling Silver Oval Link Chain Necklace, 40.0g selling for $587.
J437645 American West Sterling Silver Three Feather Cuff, 26g selling for $222.

Very pricey. Check out the silver jewelry at TJMaxx. I am glad I have LOTS from years ago when SS was so affordable. I do not need more thankfully.

$24.44 per ounce, 0.85$ per gram-
leave it to QVC-overpriced-whatever the market will bear,

I know it was priced at too much $$ but I also really liked that feather cuff when it was presented.
I decided not to purchase because I have have a few nice silver cuffs and never seem to wear them much. But it's sticking in my mind, so never say never LOL!

It's true that the price of silver has recently risen.

@Happy2BHere : Me too. If the price is reduced during the Labor Day shows I may just succumb.

@NYCLatinaMe The Jennifer Miller presentations had a tennis necklace in the almost $500 range for silver and CZs!!

Those are some beautiful items which you pictured! I used to buy quite a few items from the Q years ago and they were very reasonably priced. These days I find that a lot of silver prices are about what gold is now. I rarely can afford any fine jewelry these days at these prices.

@NYCLatinaMe - The prices for all jewelry items, silver and gold, especially, have risen significantly.
I am sure that some of the increase is based upon what the market will bear. If people stop purchasing gold and silver jewelry, the prices will drop and there would likely be a "fire sale" or two or three. That said, silver and gold prices have risen quite a lot.
I am also glad I purchased silver jewelry years ago. (Wish I had known to purchase gold, too.) Typically, today's silver and gold jewelry is much lighter in gram weight, yet the prices have gotten much higher for jewelry with less and less metal.
That said, the necklace and cuff you included are very pretty items, and they will surely be on sale or even on clearance at some point in the future, if they remain in inventory.

@NYCLatinaMeAmerican West jewelry is made in India, not China. And QVC jewelry prices are high because they are trying to pay down their debt.
