P.T. Barnum was right.

Do people still wear this type of jewelry? I mean, with the trend being "comfortable" first, everything being SO casual, wearing PJs in public, etc.

Well, I didn't watch, but I certainly looked at the pieces online--Never miss a chance to look at gemstone jewelry! None of it moved me enough to want to buy it. I'm not really a silver fan, so gemstones set in silver have to really grab me, and none of these pieces did that. Some of the pieces were cute, but even for less money they wouldn't be for me. Just not my style. For those who love, though, have at it!

I'm knowlegeable when it comes to jewelry having learned how to make it over the years and from being an avid collector. I've been to places that only sell stones in NYC and I know that quality gemstones are expensive.
These new pieces in particular the stretch bracelets have a lot of different high quality gemstones from what I can see. However, part of the high cost of jewelry comes from the manufacturing process.
It is toxic and usually requires a lot of steps just to make one element. Seeing the video of the stretch bracelets, I don't see where the $225 or now $250 is justified. Most likely he didn't source and polish the gemstones as that wouldn't make any sense when there are so many dealers. Assembling and making that bracelet was not difficult when you compare the cost of setting stones, adding a clasp and having to make different sizes. Having done this by hand, I can assure you it's a tedious and expensive process.
I also don't like how visible the elastic is. I prefer a stretch bracelet where it's barely visible. For example I'm a Barbara bixby lover. I recently bought her 16" market chain. It's made with a black cord between the silver beads. I cannot see the cord whatsoever; she soldered all the beads at each end for strength and so it couldn't be seen. It comes with a circle connector with a solid 18K flower that can be removed as well as the chain. This means I can replace the chain with another or use any other connector she sells. The price was $159.99.
I know this may seem like apples and oranges, but my point is I can see why the BB necklace costs that much; it's a substantial piece that is well made from quality precious metals. The only new Dweck piece I think may be worth the money is his 36" chain. It's less than $400, looks well made and hefty with a substantial amount of sterling silver.
I wouldn't buy this stretch bracelet for $225 or $250. That's a lot of money. I bought a gorgeous 14K and gemstone necklace last November made in Italy that only cost a little over $100. Shop around online and in stores. His line is way overpriced IMO.

I like this line of his better than his last go-round with the teeny weeny diamonds.
I think the prices are kind of high for a new line of jewelry. They usually offer new lines at a lower price then raise the prices very quickly once they deem them a success.

I liked Mr. Dweck's line the last time around and I like it again now. That said, I won't be buying much if anything because of the pricing. Had I not more than enough jewelry I might consider a piece or two, but I likely won't. I'd also note, for the most part, given the materials used, the prices don't stack up. The same, though, could be said for most of the 'designer' lines offered here, including some or the ridiculous prices routinely asked for fake diamonds.

I certainly gain or lose nothing whether Dwek’s jewelry sells. On this forum, people have asked for new designers, not the same old thing on every jewelry show.
The Q listened (surprise) & brought it.

His prices are ridiculous, even if I liked his jewelry, I wouldn’t buy them.
