I really wish QVC would start using the Surgical Grade Stainless Steel instead of mystery metals on their fashion jewelry. It's very inexpensive, never tarnishes, and can even be ION Plated in Gold that also lasts forever and never tarnishes.
I notice most of the fashion pieces of jewelry I've purchased from the Q inevitability develop that funny metallic odor. I store them in a tarnish resistant jewelry box, but it doesn't matter. It would cost the same as using mystery metal too.
Ive bought several pieces from another shopping channel with real gemstones. They always feature many pieces on the day everything is under $10. I have some really nice pieces.
Just a thought and suggestion.

@cheriere they really should, they really like using brass and then a "tone"
coating ie : silver tone, gold tone, etc..I'm not a fan of it, I prefer not having to
baby pieces. I like stuff I can "live in"😀

I really like the Steel by Design pieces that I've bought from QVC. I would rather have that than plated metals.

Brass is cheaper than stainless steel which has been getting more expensive b/c several stainless factories have closed. The factories that make steel jewelry are not as prevalent as they once were and so prices are rising for steel jewelry.
Many of the factories in India closed b/c of the pandemic. They got hit hard.

@SilleeMee I know ShopLC owns one of the two largest Stainless Steel Factories in the world that's located in China. In fact, this factory produces jewelry for most retail and other shopping channels. Other places just tend to mark it up waaayyy higher than what it should be.
Ive even purchased some quite hefty pieces, weighing close to 80grams at the $10 price. Could be that there was also some factories in India that suffered. I was only aware to there being two in the world that manufactured jewelry. It doesn't cost a lot to manufacture. I think a lot of people would really prefer it to the base metals too.

@SilleeMee interesting to know, it's price is definitely on the rise and expected to continue..

@cheriereDon't you just hate the disgusting 'metal odor'?!! I have a few pieces from Chico's that have done that even though they were properly stored. I am always self conscious if I wear one because of that scent.
im the same way lol. I can't tell you how many pieces I've just thrown away because of that. I can't get past the smell myself, especially if it's earrings. Yuck!

I will not buy anything but the real thing in silver or gold or stainless----I have a TON of jewelry, mostly in silver, but have some pieces in stainless too, very few in gold--sold most of my gold stuff years ago---I have, by choice, stopped buying jewelry---as much as I hate that----but I love looking at it and watching. I have some costume stuff--mostly from Avon, so do have mystery metal but not alot. And that I never wear--- sorry--am a snob and only wear the real thing.
