Silver Safekeeper modifications

For all of you who have wanted slight changes to your jewelry boxes: I have two armoires and two in-drawer boxes with anti- tarnish lining, but I wanted to change them slightly. I needed more room for bracelets and necklaces, and much less small divided areas or ring drawers. Unfortunately, when you take out the compartment dividers, there usually isn't lining fabric underneath. So, I went on- line and searched for anti-tarnish cloth (not polishing cloth, but the kind that lines silver case drawers). You can buy it for as little as $9.00 per yard. I bought two yards, took out the ring holders and the dividers in the drawers or sections I wanted larger open areas for large necklaces, etc., measured the bottom of the new areas, and relined them with fresh anti-tarnish cloth. Voila! Lots of new room for the items I owned, and no wasted space. You can do this in almost any drawer, or box-type jewelry storage. Also, I own a jewelry roll for taking when I travel, bur it didn't have ant anti- tarnish capability. So I used the extra cloth to make a storage bag for the roll. It works perfectly! If you can't sew it up into a bag, then just wrap it around the roll before putting it into your carry-on bag. Works great, and keeps your jewelry protected! Hope this helps you modify your jewelry boxes to better suit your collection!!
