Silver plated jewelry --- is this the thing any more??? Since the price of everything has shot up, especially jewelry -- gold and silver --- it seems that when I shop in the department stores, I am seeing "silver plated" jewelry, where I used to see actual silver jewelry. And the price for this stuff is often about what it used to cost for real silver. Are you finding this in your shopping excursions?? I recently picked up a little ring that I wanted to purchase and it was just adorable and I thought for sure it was silver, but when I looked closer, it was plated.

Now, my second question, does this stuff wear well? Or does the plating tend to come off or look dull?
