ShopHQ Top value Effy 14K precious gems ring

[ Edited ]

I just saw this. From Effy, so you know you're getting something of value.  14K multi corundom/beryl ring.  Sapphires, rubies & emeralds plus multi "fancy" sapphires choice of. Should be a tad or more over Affinity.  Diamond wise there is stuff them Sonia.  Her diamonds are usually better all around. Just very stingy with the gold.

I think it is a beautiful ring. I saw it last night when they presented it. I just do not think Effy diamonds are great quality. I would rather have a lesser ring and better stones.

I agree about the quality of Effy. Sonia Bitton's ShopHQ diamonds used to be SI, but that has not been the case for several years.

Re: ShopHQ Top value Effy 14K precious gems ring

Yes, I am watching the ShopHQ diamond day shows.

I LOVE Effy jewelry!  I have purchased several pieces from ShopHQ, and I used to shop for Effy jewelry at Lord and Taylor all the time. The designs and colors are incredible.

As I posted recently here, Mr. Effy just passed away.

I will say prices have increased almost exorbitantly.  My major complaint with Effy is they use a ton of single cut diamonds these days, including this ring, which are much less valuable. Of course, the gold is lighter weight as well. However, most of their jewelry is pretty consistent with good to very good quality.

Yes, I would be happy to receive any Effy jewelry as a gift, but I rarely buy it anymore.  It is fun to window shop!!

@FancyPhillyshopper I was seconds from buying that ring this morning until I came to my senses. Beautiful ring. If interested the emerald one is on the Macys site for about $100 less and Rakuten 15%. So tempted!!

@CAcableGirl2

This is the emerald ring my husband bought me from Macy's a few years ago, on sale for a great price. (I think under $1000.00). Emerald is my mother's favorite stone.

The diamonds are full cut and bright, and the big emerald has a nice glow. The ring also is solid with a good gold weight.  It is much more impressive on the hand than in the Macy's drawing.

Yes, all those EFFY rings tempt me as well, but I am trying to get a bit more value for my money when I buy fine jewelry these days.

Macy's - Sapphire (2-1/5 ct. t.w.) and Diamond (3/4 ct. t.w.) Ring in 14k Gold

Re: ShopHQ Top value Effy 14K precious gems ring

I bypass Effy jewelry on HQ because the diamonds are substandard to what I'd purchase.  I think I've read that Effy sells better jewelry elsewhere?

I figure if the diamonds are lesser quality, then so would be the gemstones.  I no longer buy gemstones from any tv channel because I don't want to be misled in any way with my money.

Sonia Bitton does sell some G-H/SI diamonds which are alright by me for the price point.

I have high quality diamonds, sapphires and rubies from reputable jewelers with paperwork.

I do have an emerald cut emerald from HSN from about 25 years ago that has been appraised at a very high dollar amount.  However, I wouldn't trust anything sold nowadays.

Re: ShopHQ Top value Effy 14K precious gems ring

@FancyPhillyshopper  That is a nice solid beautiful ring.  I would be tempted if I saw that ring for sale!

I have several Effy rings and almost all of them are large cigar type size bands, with the band completely covered in diamonds and other stones on the front.

I though I lost my favorite emerald and diamond one while on vacation but luckily I had left it at my sons house.  What a relief, that ring is now about $4K for similar type versions.  It's like a checkerboard with emeralds and diamonds in a yellow gold.

HA HA, I remember the days when I had $$ to spend on big jewelry!  Now I'm a lot more conservative and trying to keep focused on retiring, not buying more jewelry (that I hardly wear anymore).

But it's free to look and wish.  I just don't hit the "place order".

I purchased one of her items a few days ago; diamonds are SI. Compare hers to the other diamond vendors and her prices are almost double due to the better diamond quality. You get what you pay for.

Did you purchase the item directly from her website? I was browsing her pieces on ShopHQ, and none of them contain SI diamonds. Enjoy your purchase!
