You can purchase treated fabric to keep your jewelry tarnish free. It comes in sheets or on a roll. I have it cut to size for my jewelry drawer so when I place my pieces on it (have to be cleaned & polished the first time...won't take tarnish off), my jewelry's always ready to wear.

Check on Rio.com (wholesale jewelry catalogue) which also sells my supplies for display/packaging or w/ your local jeweler to see if they can order it for you.

I also lined the drawer in my china cabinet to keep my sterling flatwear clean and polished.

I've bought anti-tarnish cloth by the yard in fabric stores and sewn my own pouches for specific pieces of jewelry.  I've also purchased nice wooden boxes (import stores and eBay), cut a pattern from newspaper, then lined the box with anti-tarnish cloth applied with Elmer's Glue.  Don't forget to line the lid.  These make wonderful gifts for the jewelry lover.

Amazon.com has all types of anti-tarnish supplies including the fabric.  One yard is $12.95, and it's 58" wide.  That will line a lot of boxes.

@Kachina624. Aren't you the handy gal!!! You can also cut in small squares for polishing clothes, but not as convenient or effective as Sunshine Cloths.

Yes, Pacific silver cloth is infused with silver particles and really helps.  You can custom make bags for large or strange shaped items that need protection.

@Shanus  The anti-tarnish cloth is not made for polishing and doesn't contain polishing compound.  As Essie says it has a barrier that prevent air from entering and causing the tarnishing process.  Sunshine Cloth=good.

Re: SILVER/GOLD JEWELRY LOVERS

@Kachina624. I use the anti-tarnish fabric to just wipe over jewelry (tarnished or not) before putting it away. Lotions or sunscreens make it dull and gets fingerprints. Thanks for clarifying.
