S & H Fees

I just received a necklace that I ordered from the Joan Rivers collection. The S & H fees were $3.97 through the US post office. I noticed that if I choose to return it with the QVC label, my account will be charged $6.95. Why is there a difference in the S&H fee if I use the same package?
