Well then, don't look at it and don't buy it and get on with your life. Life is too short to spend complaining about mundane sh*t, i.e., shop at Claire's.

ETA: Hey Mick...I just blew $32.00 of my life savings on the LTS Braided Berge Ring!!

That's $32.00 I will never get back.....{#emotions_dlg.tt1}

Well that was very short sighted of you, I must say! Just think of all the canned goods you could have bought for your survival bunker, especially if you bought the dented ones! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

If you are a jewelry lover you can buy a variety of different David Yurman or John Hardy (the real John Hardy) pieces for the same price or less. No diamonique allowed!!!

You guys are too funny as I got this LTS too. I guess my rations are now less a few more canned goods but I will be looking awesome in my bunker.

I beg to differ, as both of these manufacturers use synthetic stones, doublets, and semi-precious stones just like JR does. John Hardy also does a QVC line. As for Yurman pricing, a simple cable cuff (7mm) with a stone end cap and little band of 14k gold runs around $775. If you take a look at the bracelets in JR's similar price point, they are at her higher end (QVC line) as compared to the cable cuff which is at Yurman's starter end.

Couldn't agree more,Smarty. Yurman rarely has anything comparable under $1000 plus. Hardy is a bird of a different feather. I'm breaking into my rations today......another JR lunchtime special. $40!

It will only go on and get worse, as long as we allow it by agreeing to pay these prices. I don't understand having to have a piece, especially that is not gold or a precious gemstone, and paying these prices just because of the designer.

One day in the future, maybe a long way away, but some day, that money would come in handy for survival. These pieces will be nothing compared to what money can buy then.

People who live for today and don't save for tomorrow will wish differently I'm afraid.

But more importantly, I don't believe in supporting avarice.

Good one, You made me look it up.

And those who mocked her, have you seen the food inflation in just the last 3 months?

I have David Yurman pieces in my collection, as well. I started collecting DY before I even knew of Judith Ripka. My first pieces were three of the Renaissance Medium Cable Cuffs (the 7mm, not the skinny mini 5mm) and a pair of Renaissance Ram's Horn Earrings---they were $745 for two of the Cuffs with cabochon endcaps and $825 for the one with faceted endcaps with princess cuts; the earrings were $795---this was in 1991. Those Silver Renaissance David Yurman cuffs would now be at least $1600 each!!! They are Silver and semi-precious gemstones with some 14K gold. I love them, and won't part with them, but you could get a boat load of JRQ for the price of a single DY cable cuff. I dare say that if the new "Confetti Cuff" was a Yurman piece we'd be looking at upwards from $4000-5000, not the $800 something it was available for at the Q---I'm actually thinking it was a real BARGAIN!

If women choose to pay those high prices for JR''s line thats their choice. Tiffany's Silver is overly priced and that doesn't stop sales.

Life is short but if one can afford to spend their money on jewelry or whatever & it gives them pleasure & they can afford it then its not a problem as far as future survival as you put it, which has been mocked here. (some funny stuff)

I think what you mean't was saving for retirement & being wise with our choices which I totally agree as we all should to be comfortable financially & also important is that we keep our independence & not depend on our children if at all possible.
