@SilleeMee: It does resemble bacon, but I never though that way about the gem. To me, looks like strawberry with vanilla ice cream.

Every time I see it, I'm reminded of Lady Gaga's 'meat dress'. Rhodochrosite will never look the same for me from now on. Sort of disgusting...I hate to say.

@SilleeMee: This type of Rhodochrosite is not the only one. There is another variety of the the gem that has an intense red orange color. I think is found in Oregon or Colorado, but I'm not sure.
