Returning, Returning, Returning

I am usually not someone who returns items as I carefully order what I like and need. But recently I had ordered several jewelry pieces and wouldn't you know it, all of them are horrible and going back. I've never gotten one of "those" letters, but i may be getting one now.

What is your definition of ""horrible?""

Re: Returning, Returning, Returning

I was very disappointed in an order I placed for a pair of 18k gold earrings. No pack slip was included but on the envelope it said Goshen Returns... The earrings looked worn and the finish was worn away in places. In the past I could rely on ordering their premiere gold but not anymore. Gigy, I sympathize with you.

Re: Returning, Returning, Returning

Here are the pieces I ordered and sent right back.

Shopq….black spinel tennis bracelet: much too big at 7.5 inches and looked cheap. The 6 inch would have been too tight.

Shopq…Pink Sapphire Earrings: did not have any luster or sparkle, very dull and strange design, kind of kite shaped. Not worth the $300 price tag.

QVC…18" & 20" Mesh Chain in sterling and 18" Mesh Chain in gold over sterling: delicate pieces, but did not lay flat on the neck, kept twisting and turning under, so the design was all messed up.

QVC…Judith Ripka Multi Gemstone Chain Bracelet: arrived looking dirty, dull, like it had been used for a while then sent back, the gemstones had almost no sparkle. By the way, for those who know how expensive JR pieces have become on the Q, this little # was over $500.00 if you included tax, shipping & handling.

Re: Returning, Returning, Returning

That's too bad you were disappointed. I do think that the quality has gone down, on some jewelry pieces while the prices have gone up.

It's really a bummer to be looking forward to something and then being let down.

We've all been there and had our disappointments in purchases.

I thought you might have been hypercritical, but no, I would have sent those items back, too. I think the returns issue is the most serious, for $500.00 they can either clean these pieces and repackage or put them in the outlet stores. At least sell them "as is" at a much reduced price.

Re: Returning, Returning, Returning

I just returned a 14K filigree ring which I received damaged. When you felt around the band there was a rough spot. When you take a closer look you see that the filigree has broken apart. I couldn't believe no one picked this up during ""Quality Control"" before it got sent out.

I also received a silver bangle that was already bent. Needless to say you could see this immediately it was extremely obvious. And no ""Quality Control"" again. Also in this order for the bangle they sent a paper saying you return this on your own no return label.

I believe in the quality control process, they take random samples...they don't examine every single item. I've received merchandise with a sticker that said it was opened and examined.

I have found that the items with those inspection stickers are returns they are sending out.

Re: Returning, Returning, Returning

I've returned more than is my usual lately as well... and couldn't care less should I get 'the letter'. If I don't like something I'm not keeping and not really being certain is part and parcel of shopping other than locally where you can actually see the merchandise... Besides, I figure with the new shipping 'deals', returns won't be much of an issue, as I'll be ordering far fewer items 'on approval'... If I have to pay to 'try something on' then I simply won't take the risk... Of course, that also means I'm not buying it. There, that should work nicely for them.
