Removing links from TSV watch

I received my black TSV watch yesterday! What a beauty! I immediately went today to have a couple of links removed to a watch shop I have gone to many times in the past to have links removed and the employee said she couldn't do it — I had to come back when the owner was there - he was the only one who could remove links from a ceramic watch. I know the owner and will go back, but I am a little nervous. Is there a potential problem with removing these type of links?? I'd really appreciate any info you might have. Thanks.
