Flipping channels as I slowly eat a bit.. (Trying to get well after a serious flare of a chronic illness is always so hard!)
Anyway, I've caught him a few times lately and his items are 99% plated bronze now. What has happened, was he bought out by Q as well?
there was just a very contemporary but classic neckpiece on I looked and listened closer..."White Bronze" ? I've never heard of it. I've studied metallurgy and unless a new element has been discovered, there isn't a white bronze!!! Thus, the name~ "bronze".
Pit may be bronze plated in rhodium, which can be colored yellow, rose, gold, black, etc. I just don't get it.
Metal prices are coming down...lets see the sterling silver!!! I have a few pieces from the good old days from RLM and I treasure them. 🌹

gemspirit,
i agree with you ..i won't buy bronze jewelry and own some of his silver earrings and necklaces from years ago.
What i paid for his silver items are what they now charging for the bronze jewelry!

I recently came across his jewelry at my local department store; actually several of my local stores (Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor, and Macys). It is made in China and is not sterling silver. It says Robert Lee Morris - Soho Line. Designs are the same but as I said it is not sterling silver but is reasonably priced ($30. for earrings, $50. for bracelets)

It's a shame he has cheapened his brand by using bronze. Other jewelry designers are still using silver...why did he change? I won't buy the bronze. I believe he sold his company so I suppose someone else is calling the shots. It must be sickening to build a company then see it go downhill. He will cry all the way to the bank.

Posting this here too.. I meant to post it here but it ended up on the other RLM thread....
He actually mentioned why he's using bronze sometime in the summer and he was quite pleased with it. During a presentation, he was candid and said that he had to use other metals to make silver pieces such as bronze to keep the price down. As many of us know, it seems designers are forced to produce at a certain price point decided by QVC. He did not seem to like the multiple metal pieces he had to design in order to stay within a price point.
RLM stated that finally bronze allowed him to design once again like he did in the past; to make weighty bold pieces. He seemed very overjoyed about this.
I agree, now that silver has gown down significantly he should most likely go back to silver. I read some of the reviews on the bronze items and they were good. If I remember correctly, he also stated the white bronze color was not just on the top buy all throughout the piece.

I agree with all of you on your points. And I have seen his soho line. But, even that used to be of higher quality.
His silver seemed pricey at the time, way back. But, none of the pieces I ordered cost anywhere near the prices some of the current silver designers in the limelight now.
The few pieces of his original sterling I own, I treasure completely. I feel RLM is a master craftsmen and has made outstanding jewelry. I own the "sail" pendant if anyone remembers it. It is a sterling high polished contoured large disc on a simple leather cord. That piece should be treasured by anyone!

Some of us just can't wear Bronze. I don't care if they cover it in plexiglass it causes my skin to break out and even coated, I will turn the bronze (one piece I bought years ago actually pitted and tarnished UNDER the coating).... so I won't deal with bronze. I also can't wear electroplating, BUT can wear gold filled (depending on the alloy used) and I've never had a problem with sterling silver....
I was disappointed in the selection RLM brought, I was hoping to see some of his larger, gorgeous sterling silver pieces... ![]()

I can't believe the prices on the bronze. It's ridiculous. I love his designs, but would never pay those prices for bronze.
I think RLM selling bronze cheapens his line.

My sister and I were fans of "RLM" line of jewelry. I've found RLM pieces at major department stores. I agree, I am not fond of the bronze pieces.
