Re: REVIEWS: Please post Judith Ripka March 2014 REVIEWS here... :)

{{Floss}}, so great to see you. {#emotions_dlg.w00t} Hope your legs are healed. Sending you warmest of positive thoughts. I'll be adding the J-numbers to your reviews so others can look them up.

{{Kappy}}, I was very dismayed to hear about your thread and the unkind posters. This is why I limit my viewing and posting, sometimes disappointing and hurtful for the health and spirit. Just know that their comments are reflections of themselves and have nothing to do with you. You are highly esteemed on the JR Board.{#emotions_dlg.wub} Our Ripka board is for and by collectors, period, or those seeking JR information.

Ripkanistas! Please add your reviews or copy your single review post from other threads. I'll be back this weekend to review the bold faceted Onyx ring, Monaco bracelet and lotus Amethyst omegas. Thanks~Peach

PS~Have decided to add Monaco bracelet review next month...

REVIEW: J151330 Lotus cabochon Amethyst dangle omegas

Grade: B

Yea: Mid-weight, perfect size, vibrant saturated Amethyst

Boo: should be a standard in the JRQ collection

Value (1=low; 10=high): 8

"Go-to" earring needs to be brought back into JRQ inventory in many gemstone choices

This 1 3/4" by 5/8" DMQ-free gemstone earring has just about everything going for it. Post is moderately thick so it shouldn't bend easily, size is visible without being too large or too small, dangle is flirty without dragging down most ear lobes and original price was under $100. Lotus and slant Berge design isn't too matte or too shiny and dangle thickness is a respectable 1/8" while the bale is a dimensional 1/4" thick for solid support. Back of dangle is nicely finished while allowing light to travel through the vibrantly-saturated Amethyst. With all the quality and price elements kept in place and more gemstone choices added, from white Agate to Onyx, Citrine to blue Topaz, these classic earrings should be a staple in the collection. Look out for them "Over There" (major auction site). ~Peach

REVIEW: J286910 Knuckle-to-knuckle faceted Onyx/Diamonique bold ring

Grade: B+

Yea: Stunning woven side carving stands up to huge faceted Onyx stone.

Boo: fleur de lis undergallery has unnecessary, sharp side cut-outs; back band should be heftier.

Value (1=low; 10=high): 7.5

Gorgeous bold ring stuns from the front but needs more support in the back band

This is one killer rectangle-shape ring, and makes a great statement piece. It could easily become a daily wear ring if bold is your calling card. It is 1 1/16" long by 3/4" wide and a full 3/4" tall. DMQ border weighs in with 40 points. Woven stitch-like Berge sides have glow and dimension which really make this ring spectacular. Black Onyx sparkles in the light.

While this beauty is weighted so it will expertly cleave to the front of the finger and won't spin around, some cost-cutting was done with the Fleur de lis undergallery, adding large sharp crescent-shaped cut-outs on the sides where the ring could use a bit more support. The relatively-slim in width Berge band at the back of the ring is slightly sharp as well where it should be a little thicker. Sizing is perfect, however.

Still, this is a terrific design, something Judith is renowned for, satisfying Ripkanistas who can carry off large statement rings. I'm in! ~Peach

Re: REVIEWS: Please post Judith Ripka March 2014 REVIEWS here... :)

And it's threads like this is why the prices continue to outrageously climb. She knows whatever she brings at whatever price her ripkanistas will buy. I do have her pieces but from years ago like when the auto delivery bracelets were $99. And now someone posted they are over $300, which is absolutely ridiculous. Sorry but silver hasn't gone up that much and fake stones really have no value at all. Maybe if sales started to decline so will the prices and more of her former customers will buy again.
