I've never bought Omega back earrings because they seemed too big and bulky.  However certain styles that appeal to me now have this backing.  So I need to know 1. Are they comfortable?  2.  Are they secure?

Re: Questions about Omega backs

I love omega back earrings and prefer them over snap bar closures.  For me the earrings fit better on my ear and are more secure.  I have tried some that did pinch my ear lobe, but most have been comfortable.

Omega backs are the best IMO.  Comfy and secure.  I highly recommend them.

@depglass -

I do think it depends on who makes them.

I had one from Judith Ripka and had to return it because it hurt so much.

So I knew never to order earrings from her.

Another I still have and love from a designer on QVC who is no longer selling here, (forgot the name), are very comfortable and very secure.

I agree, very secure and comforable.  I also like the clicker backs.  You just put them on and click them inSmiley Happy

They are great if done well. All the high end jewelers use them almost primerely( except hoops and studs)

Can't wear them, they squeeze my ear lobes and I get

cysts. I've even had jewelers adjust them- no good.

They are extremely secure but I find they're often too tight and pinch.  It's tempting to fool with them to loosen but you can ruin them in a flash.  I always take them to my jeweler for adjustment.  Then they're very comfortable.

Good morning @depglass . Omega backs usually need to be adjusteded in 2 places to make them comfortable...the bottom hinged area and the post either adjusted up or down to have them sit higher on the ear and not as tightly. I prefer them, but unlike a post/butterfly clutch, one size does not fit all.

@SANNA   They are best on a larger, heavy earring because they do balance the weight on the ear.
