No, all jewelry doesn't have a clear finish on it.  Mess with stuff at your own peril.  Get advice from QVC if you can get through to them, wait a few months if necessary.  If all else fails, I would try to find a local jeweler that is qualified to deal with this.  Not just a jewelry retailer, a true trained jeweler who works with gold and silver.  What a disappointment to spend this kind of money and have this happen.  My few pieces of Ripka have aged very well.

Solution would be clean them, then paint with clear nail polish. Also all jewelry is made with many kinds of metals. Some are better than others, hence green finger.

 

 

If you're going to have to go to that much trouble, why bother buying it?

I have never had an issue with Ripka tarnishing as they are all coated.  I would contact Ripka and let them tell you how to clean.
