Question about dimensions of rings shown on item pages

I'm looking at the Eternagold rings and am not sure about the dimensions.  For example:

 

Measures approximately 1/4"L x 3/4"W

 

I do not understand what these mean? 

 

I am sad that the beautiful diamond fell out of my wedding ring, not to be found.  I'm thinking of replacing it with a pretty band. There isn't much listed for Eternagold.

The 3/4" is the width across the finger and will be the same for most rings,  the 1/4" is the height of the setting or stone or width of the band from top to bottom.
