QVC2 Burmese Ruby Ring

Good morning all,

QVC2 has a ruby ring listed as their daily special deal. What are your thoughts on this piece? Quality? Price?

This caught my eye as you do not usually see Burmese rubies on QVC.

The 13-year ban to import Burmese stones was lifted last October. So now more Burmese rubies and jade pieces are available to buy here. Imo that Big Deal ruby ring is somewhat over-priced. Had it been offered around the $400-range, maybe a better deal.

I was thinking the same thing about the price but then again it is before Christmas and some pay more for that "wow" gift. It is pretty that's for sure. I do not own any rubies so wondering about your thoughts as to quality.

I think its lovely, but just out of my price range this time of year.

It just has a WOW to it. stunning really.

There are articles appearing that say the US may re-impose the imbargo on items from Myanmar (Burma). Human rights violations are the reason given. So Burmese rubies and jade may get cut off again. Then there will be a big scramble like there was for Sleeping Beauty turquoise.

So funny,I fell asleep last night with them turning out the lights and the ring changing colors and awoke this AM to the exact same thing..........lol

The ring is pretty ,though.
