There is another thread going on the Fashion Forum you should check out listing the frustrations of the Q tracking system that gives customers ""website is not available please use automated ordering"" when trying to track their returns.

Hopefully someone at QVC monitors these threads and will see they have a big problem with their on-line system.

SAME problem here. I used the label because CS told me I wouldn't have to pay return shipping because of a problem. Won't make that idiot mistake again. This is so lame.

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

Once my return is picked up (which I use for bigger packages) or in my mailbox, I forget about it. Why should I care about tracking it? I know it takes forever, but when it's the USPS everything takes longer. Plus the processing time at QVC will take a while. If I don't see a refund in about ten days, I call. Tracking it isn't going to make it get there any faster. It takes really long, but I like to buy several lines on QVC, so I can't do much about it.

If you use the return label but have a problem with an item (defective), then absolutely you will be refunded the amount of the return postage so I don't understand the above comment re using the return label being lame. Many of the issues are the problems of QVC's terrible web site which never works properly in many different ways. The other problem is that the returns are on a level that the USPS doesn't give great tracking on. But I only care when it reaches QVC. I don't really care if it's in Maryland or wherever. If it's an item the post man picks up at my home, then he scans it right away and it should say that it has been picked up. I do care when an item has been picked up. I do not go to the post office anymore - I can't be running down there and I shop on QVC a good bit.

I do think that the amount of time is long to get a refund, but it is what it is. If being able to track a return each step of the journey means I'll pay more for a return, then I don't want it.

I have had a lot of returns and never had an item not reach QVC - knock on wood.

HSN doesn't carry one item that I'm interested in, so I don't care about their quick returns.

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

I do agree that the returns are extremely slow. However, I always (when using QVC's return label) make sure I copy down the return tracking number. That way I can just track it without having to go through QVC's Web site.

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

The return labels that the Q uses are quick and easy but not the fastest nor necessarily the cheapest way. You are paying $6.95? To send it back with their label. You can pay for a small priority box from USPS for $5.95. USPS will take the qvc returns, but then they are given to an outside shipping company for the rest of it. That is why it is no longer scanned until arrived and they are extremely slow. If you use a usps priority box or even using their parcel post, they are supposed to scan it at every arrival unit. If shipped priority, it normally takes 2-3 days.

funinthesun: your post was very informative. I like the idea of the small priority box for $5.95. Will keep this in mind for any future returns.

However the QVC website is not working properly for customers and they should get it fixed!!

I've returned stuff to all 3 of the big shopping networks and QVC is the slowest for some reason. Is worse than years ago.....

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

it has always been subpar. I send my stuff back with USPS Priority Mail. It costs about the same, arrives in 3 days and I get my refunds faster. Also the tracking information is updated regularly. I know exactly when my packages arrive.

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

I sent some clothing items back on September 8. I checked the tracking a week ago and it said it had been picked up 2 days after I mailed the package. Today I emailed the Q since I haven't gotten my refund and I was told to allow 12 days, and 7 more if I shipped things together. I emailed back and told them it was now 24 days, which exceeds their 19 day time frame. The email I got back sounded like the person barely read what I said. My reply to their "helpful" response included detailed info on all items returned. We'll see what happens.

This fiasco has me reconsidering any future QVC shopping. At first, it made me think I should not buy clothes here because sizing can be tricky, even though a lot of the Q clothes fit me well. But I buy a lot of other stuff here too. Maybe this is a sign I should give it up altogether. I've been buying way too much anyway.

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

If you write down the tracking number from the Q return label, you can pug it into the USPS and track it that way. I just returned the legacy tsv (kept one size returned the other) Was annoyed that I paid $3 shipping to get it to me, but to send it back I have to pay $6.95!

Re: QVC return tracking is subpar

Remember that the QVC/ShopHQ/HSN/JTV Smartlabel includes a tracking number and insurance up to a certain amount. If you ship your return using Priority Mail from USPS it only includes a tracking number but not insurance. And shipping it parcel post doesn't even include a tracking number.

Always make sure you write down your Smartlabel return tracking number and track it through USPS.com and then once it's picked up by the Smartlabel company, you track it through http://www.tracking.smartlabel.com/. Tracking a Smartlabel return through the link provided by QVC or the other networks' sites don't work properly.
