Gold price is still high. I checked out some of the gold items still over priced

QVC right now listing of gold is about $200.00 to $1,000.00 (18K) over.  This should be adjusted the closer you get to a gold event.  The Arte D' Oro charm bracelet for example, now at $3,000.00 will drop to $2,000.00  for example.  When they discontinue, it becomes clearance. Hoping it will drop to $1,000.00.  The 18K gold pendant I got  dropped $250.00 when I purchased it.  Then back up afterwards. But gold jewelry (as opposed to the price of gold), is always much higher.  All jewelry is like that, including diamonds.  It loses value as soon as you walk out of the jewelry store.   You resell it at a loss. It's like a car.

@songbird  I know you prefer 18K and Q mostly has 14K.  Is the Arte D'oro the only line Q offers of 18K?  Just curious.  Love talking about jewelry though I seldom buy any pieces now. Smiley Happy

Is this author's presumptive jewelry schedule or did it come from the Q?  I really really really wish they would bring back more jewelry shows/days.  That is what drew me to QVC when I first started watching and buying and really miss those shows.  IMO they have cut jewelry way too drastically back and also too much jewelry air time is devoted to over the top expensive jewelry.  Used to we had the likes of Lee Sands, Nolan Miller, more Joan Rivers jewelry, Bali and other affordable artisan crafted hours, Silver Style WEEKLY, etc.  QVC needs to diversify their shows much more.  Way too many shoe shoes, D&C shows, cooking and food shows, etc.  Very disproportionate!

Silver Style® was aired approximately every four weeks from 1987 to 2011.

QVC appears to be working on traditional jewelry store markups on gold.  They are doing the same thing with the apparel lines.  This gives plenty of room for sale and clearance prices.  Is that all we buy from?  Me, maybe, but I doubt if the entire customer base is like me.  The last expensive gold item I bought was a $900.00 blue zircon and white gold ring at least a year and a half ago.  I bought it because the zircons were deeper blue than I was finding in silver.  It must have been a new mine somewhere, because blue zircons started flooding the market.
