They can present Serta mattresses every Sunday for the next 100 years and I will never purchase one. There are just some items you don't buy from a shopping channel. IMHO, a mattress is on of them.

This news is just not understandable from a sales point of view..............

You can buy many pieces of jewelry over a year's time, even more than one handbag; but how many blenders, mattresses, computers, vaccuums, chairs, pots/pans sets, fans, etc etc does the average person buy or replenish each year?

In the old days UPS/P.O. delivered half a dozen or more packages to me after the Crede or Bonanza days.

So sad.

I don't think there is a big market for silver jewelry, chains and things, now. I don't think it is something the majority of shoppers are looking for. I haven't bought a silver chain in 10 years I don't think.

Also, I think people who are buying jewelry are buying more expensive items and being more selective about it because of prices. We used to buy silver as an impulse item, but I don't see people wearing it so much any more.

Look around and everyone but me has statement necklaces. . .That's about all I see. And pearls. Pearls never go out of style the classics, but I don't think there is the Honora novelty pearl market there used to be either.

@Kachina624, thank you, thank YOU! It was kinda funny. Just when I hit the post button, I saw my error. I was trying to snatch it back before it posted. Ha! I thought there was a way to edit a post but I'd never learned how to do it. Thanks so much for teaching me. Now, if I can just remember it. LOL!

@forest4thetrees I completely agree. There are so many different types of simple sterling jewelry out there. Various types of chain for necklaces & bracelets as well as bangles & charms.

I have tried to love JR and Carolyn Pollack but their designs are not my style & I can't see me buying quantities even if I did like it. Maybe a signature piece or 2.

Same with the huge costume pieces. I want sterling, not brass. I just don't understand their thinking!
