@GinaV24 wrote:@banned again I used to look forward to their "silver days" but once they stopped offering interesting designs for a reasonable price and moved toward the "designer" silver at MUCH higher prices, I stopped paying as much attention. Like many of QVC's offerings, they have gotten stale. I have some really unique pieces in my jewelry wardrobe that were bought from QVC that I wear often and enjoy.
IMO they need new buyers.
I won't be watching the Serta shows as an alternative I can tell you that, too. If I was going to buy a mattress, I'd go look at it in person.
I watch less QVC since i will only watch shows/hosts that interest me. Keeps my buying down, too. Funny how that works.
I agree! The 'every day' [affordable!] sterling silver shows started diminishing once they brought in the designer jewelry vendors.
I really enjoyed the 24 hr shows- also the monthly 4 hour silver style shows - and looked forward to finding one or two special pieces that called my name!

@Sooner wrote:I don't think there is a big market for silver jewelry, chains and things, now. I don't think it is something the majority of shoppers are looking for. I haven't bought a silver chain in 10 years I don't think.
Also, I think people who are buying jewelry are buying more expensive items and being more selective about it because of prices. We used to buy silver as an impulse item, but I don't see people wearing it so much any more.
Look around and everyone but me has statement necklaces. . .That's about all I see. And pearls. Pearls never go out of style the classics, but I don't think there is the Honora novelty pearl market there used to be either.
I think it depends on a person's lifestyle. I have never been a "statement piece" person, and now that I'm retired I'm buying more jewelry - simple, understated, basic jewelry - than I did while I was working and going out a lot. I have never been attracted to pearls.
I would like to have some gold, but honestly, with the lifestyle I live it would be spending a lot of money for things I might wear only a few times a year if that. Silver I can wear every day.
But I don't care to over-pay for QVC's idea of "designer" jewelry, silver or otherwise. I prefer hand crafted, one-or-few-of-a-kind pieces that are fairly priced for workmanship and amount of silver.
I think many people are buying silver because they can't afford gold. I would much rather buy silver than waste-of-money Bronzo-type jewelry. At least Sterling is Sterling, like karat gold, not "mystery metal."

So glad that I purchased my silver and gold jewelry years ago, when QVC offered a lot of different styles and the prices were affordable. You could get a pair of sliver earrings for under $20, and chains too, and 14 kt. gold hoop earrings for $35. Now similar is $135. Also inherited many pieces from my mother, so not in need of silver and gold jewelry. Plus most of the pieces were made in Italy, unlike today where the origin is stated "imported". Was never into the 'bronzo' craze, but do own some Veronese, which I like very much. It is so sad to see what QVC's jewelry offerings have become. Even Diamonique isn't what it used to be and the same goes for Steel By Design.

I agree with all the comments and views here, but one thing no one seems to be talking about and its so obvious (and frustrating)! The silver offered last year at Creed and the gold offered on Gold Rush are so cheap looking. The silver sold last year and for the past couple of years, for that matter are bright, bright silver plated over something or just another silver metal - not the "heavy" authentic 925 silver we have been used to in the past. The gold - same way - really bright - looks fake and cheap - and prices for the "costume" (designer) jewelry are outrageous. Wonder why these shows have been cancelled ?IMHO, I think the majority of the audience here have caught on and just don't want what they are selling? Do you agree? For my age - I have all the jewelry I will ever need, but I am always looking for what's new....cannot find it at the Q anymore.

I have to believe QVC analyzes what sells and what doesn't. I guess jewelry just doesn't sell like it once did. I guess Sleep Number, Vitamix, Dyson, Shark, Serta, Dell, HP etc must make up a huge part of their sales numbers. I'm not interested.

How I dread the Beds, computer, TV'''s, Keurig, Sharks TSV. How many hour long, boring presentations can they do. The Q used to have new shows weekly, now looking through the Insider they have 1 or 2 a month. Oh well money well saved for me.

There are shopping channels that sell only jewelry and they are still on every day 24 hours.

I did enjoy the Creede silver show a lot.
The "designer" stuff is way overpriced in my opinion. I don't like oxidized jewelry, which a lot of it is. Just my personal preference. I was never into Judith Ripka much, and really don't like gold "clad" pieces. Don't care that much for the southwest style, which is also oxidized.
Fortunately, I got a lot of gold and silver before prices went through the roof.
Heaven knows I don't know what their business analysis shows. But, I don't like Christmas themes, which are soon going to be 24/7 soon. And I don't like some of their other directions. So, I watch a whole lot less than before.

Of course they did. And really, as much as it has been for several years now, they should of cancelled it a long time go with the stuff they were bringing in. Nope - not the same by any means.
How many mattresses or blenders or vacuums does one need? And, why not go to a mattress or furniture store for that mattress? And, BBB, Target, or Best Buy for those blenders & vacuums?
Home Shopping Networks are convenient, yes. But, so is shopping online from places that have all kinds of stuff to offer with very competitive pricing. And, there are always catalogues and operators to take your call if you are not into computers or just want to talk to a human being.
