I always check out the new Judith Ripka pieces.  One that caught my eye and not in a good way is J 379740, a pair of sterling rhodolite lever back earrings.  The price?  $1657!  Is this accurate?  Were the stones mined on the moon?  Color me puzzled.

The only explanation I can think of is that they are large stones for rhodolite.  They would be 3.25ct each and rhodolite stones are usually very small.  I certainly wouldn't pay $1600. for them, however.  Don't you think the Q could have picked up the $5. Shipping charge?

Agreeing with Kachina624 here; these are large stones. You're not paying for the amount of silver nor for the fake diamonds. It's the stones and (let's be real) the JR name.

the vast majority of the $1000+ pieces from JR or from any other line on qvc almost always gets reduced in a relatively short time. if you are interested and can wait, that is probably the best way to get the piece, if you want it.

I'm sure it's the correct price.

Maybe the price was wrong.  I just tried to pull up the item and it says it's not available at this time.  LOL

Somebody probably rushed in and bought when they saw @severusgirl 's post.  QVC thanks you for your advertisement.
