Peyton's Place-Csarite

[ Edited ]

One of my very favorite miracles of Mother Nature, Csarite.

Csarite comes from one mine located in the Anatolia Mountains in Turkey.   Believed to be ten thousand times rarer than diamonds, Csarite has phenomena that no other gemstone has, the ability to display different tones of colors at the same time: spectacular greens, peaches, champagnes, and raspberries.   This is an extraordinarily rare anomaly in the gem world.  It is only one of five true color change gemstones known today.

Under candlelight it glows with peaches and raspberries; indoors - peach, green, and champagne; mixed light - peaches and champagnes; and in sunlight- a kiwi green.

While at the Tucson Gem show, we met with Murat, the mine owner, and he showed us the largest faceted Csarite in the world.  The color change is amazing.

Are you familiar with Csarite, if you have one please tell me about it.

Hi Peyton - I adore this gemstone.  This is one of those that is a maybe some day since I prefer stones on the larger size.  Is this the same gemstone as the trademarked Zultanite and/or a Turkish Diospore?  I believe there may be a difference as to mineral content and/or origin (I believe some diospore is found in Russia), but I just love to dabble in gemstones.  Thanks for posting!

Hi @nycgrl, It is a remarkable gemstone.  Please tune in for gem day, there is an amazing, very large emerald cut.   It is spectacular.   Yes, this is the same gemstone as the others.    We work directly with the mine owner and he makes sure we get the best quality possible and shapes/sizes that are not available anywhere else.   It is found a couple of other places, but gem qualtiy is only found in Turkey.  Thank you very much for posting.  Best, Peyton
