Did anyone get the 14k gold byzantine orange fire opal ring that was presented a few weeks ago? If so, did you like it?

I ordered and received the ring.

I was born in October so (fire) opal is my birthstone. I've always wanted a fire opal ring but I never saw any that I really liked. Although I love sterling silver I always wanted a fire opal set in 14kt gold. For some reason I just thought the orange color of the stone would look better set in gold.

When I saw the fire opal in 14kt byzantine, I jumped on it. Well, I had to think about it for a little bit since at $300 it ain't cheap! I actually purchased it early in the day and I'm glad that I did since it went to advance order rather quickly. I usually never use easy pay, but for this piece I did, so at least I don't have to cough up all that money at once.

I assume that you're on advance order for the ring? If so, I think you will love it. It's by no means light on the gold, I think it's rather substantial. Not heavy heavy but not dental floss thin either. The fire opal itself is absolutely gorgeous!! As I mentioned, this is the first fire opal that I have so I have nothing to compare it to, but the stone is just beautiful. It's clear and saturated with color. And the size of the stone if really nice, you can really see it, it's not a small size by any means.

I hope this helps. If you are on advance order, I think it would be worth the wait!!

I also have the ring in fire opal. I really like it - the gold is nice - not heavy but substantial looking. I love the stone color and sparkle, and the setting around the stone is lovely.

I considered this ring, but opted not to get it, despite the fact that I think Fire Opal is a beautiful stone. I just wasn't sold on the Byzantine setting even though I think the ring is very pretty.

Thank you for the replies. I have orange fire opals all in sterling silver settings and just love them. Most of mine are a darker orange. I wondered what shade of orange this stone was and if the orange looked good with 14k gold.
