Hi ladies, just wanted to let you know a little that is going on since Sandy severely damaged our home. It has been an absolute nightmare that hopefully no else here has to go through. There has been an unending number of people in and out of our house. To date there have literally been 19 different FEMA men, Homeowners insurance adjusters, flood insurance adjusters, more insurance adjusters, not counting electricians, contractors, mold remediation people, engineers and architects, to name a few. As of now our house has been totally gutted, and thanks to the government STEP program we have had heat reinstalled for free. But now we get to heat the dirt ground since there are no floors, or walls for that matter. Monday the mold remediation company is coming in to clean up, after that the electrician can come in and replace all the wiring and outlets that were under water. Hopefully after that the contractor can come in and start reconstructing, the subfloors, floors, walls, doors and windows, after that we have to order all new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, flooring, appliances, fixtures etc. that will have to be installed. Then we have to have flooring put back in all of the remaining rooms. And only then can we start buying furniture to refurnish these rooms, WHEW! As you can see it is not a small undertaking, but hopefully this nightmare will eventually end and we can go home. We are hoping to be able to get back in by the end of spring. And once we get home we and our neighbors, who are all going through the same thing, are throwing one BIG WELCOME HOME PARTY!
